What is Short Term Accommodation?
STA is an NDIS-funded programme that allows you to stay at an NDIS registered centre. This stay is usually for a short duration of 1-14 days and aims to provide a chance to break the monotony of your daily routine. The staff at the centre provides you with personal care and meals along with a well-attended room as well as a range of activities and social engagement. To be eligible for this, the STA must be part of your NDIS funding and a “necessary and essential” support in your plan.

Is STA Included in Your NDIS plan?

NDIS funds the NDIS Short Term Accommodation based on your need for the same or when it can help you achieve a goal outlined in your plan. If it is not already part of your plan, you can approach the NDIS for plan review or modifications. You also need to show how STA is reasonable and necessary support that you require. The identification of goals and mapping the same with the STA can help you get the funding that you need. This may also be a formal recommendation by medical professionals.

If you are not sure whether funding for STA is included in your plan or if you wish to use other core support funding for the same, our NDIS plan manager can help. We can also guide you with requests for NDIS plan review or modification. Our specialists will try their best to get you the proper STA funding you require.
